National UK mental health charity Mind have a very strong visual style. The challenge is for local groups to find their own identity within this. We’ve worked with Bromley Mind and Richmond Mind on a wide variety of guides and manuals for their local service users. We work carefully to ensure that layouts are easy to read and visually appealing, as well as reflecting the individual local group – and all whilst maintaining the brand, through several brand makeovers. Our work on Richmond Borough Mind’s ‘Carers Manual’, a significant and sizeable local support handbook, went on to receive acclaim at national level for its clarity of presentation.

Jane Thomas Memorial Book

Featuring contributions from family and friends across the world, this 72-page, fully bound book was designed as a lasting and personal memorial of an exceptional woman following her death from cancer. With a vibrant glossy colour cover, the interior used black and white printing to advantage with striking silhouettes based on nature, one of Jane’s passions. This, combined with large-scale personal photographs of Jane and a stylish text layout made a truly unique tribute.

This groundbreaking resource was the first of its kind for trans inclusivity, and quickly became a go-to reference-point for many organisations, helping trans inclusivity to move up their agenda, and into the light. Spiral bound for easily accessible reference, the design used zine styling to highlight the importance of unique individuality, combining this with an eye-catching riff on the brand colours of producing organisation Galop, along with clear, accessible, and professional layout.

LGBT Consortium

Fun, funky and informative – in a world full of eye-candy aimed at young people this series of leaflets encouraging volunteering, sponsored by a government agency, needed to shout out and be heard as well as presenting serious content in an appealing way. Vivid rainbow colours reflect the Consortium’s logo, innovative V-shaped cut-outs tie-in to the content and vibrant urban illustrations make a connection to LGBT youth lifestyle.

Stonewall Housing

We worked closely with them to develop the illustrated comic format and layout which lifted what could have been a run-of-the-mill report into an exciting and punchy reading experience. They liked it so much they incorporated the cartoon themes into their general promotional identity, and comissioned a follow-up annual report in the same format the following year.
